Jiah Khan Films
Many believed that the gorgeous Jiah Khan, who made quite an unconventional debut with Nishabd in 2007, was in Bollywood for the long haul.
The starlet stood out among her contemporaries with her perfectly dusky complexion, luscious hair and perfect pout.
But it wasn't meant to be. All of 25, Jiah Khan ended her life on the night of June 3 in her Juhu flat.
Here's a look at the late actress's short-lived journey in films.
Jiah Khan entered Bollywood when she was just 16 with the film Tumsa Nahin Dekha, directed by Anurag Basu who discovered her while she was holidaying in India.
She took it up but opted out of the film later when she realised that she was probably too young for the role.
On her next trip to India, she was signed by Ram Gopal Varma for Nishabd.
All of 19, she played Amitabh Bachchan's love interest in the film. Nishabd was loosely based on the famous novel Lolita written by Russian novelist Vladimir Nabokov.
Jiah Khan's family life
Like many of her comtemporaries, Jiah Khan was an active presence in Twitterverse.
Often retweeting introspective posts about love, relationships and life in general, the actress's feed was punctuated by pictures of her and her family -- her two sisters and filmmaker mother Rabbiya Khan.
Here's a look at snapshots from Jiah Khan's childhood and life away from the camera.
Posting this picture with her mother, Jiah had tweeted in August last year: "flashback! mummy and I!!!"
